Bergen Assembly’s New Office on Halfdan Kjerulfs Gate
22.01.2021
In 2020 Bergen Assembly moved into a new office in the city centre, on the ground floor of Halfdan Kjerulfs Gate. Taking from the experiences from previous projects such as Partisan Cafe in 2016 and Belgin in 2019, and learning from those that created them, Bergen Assembly looks forward to establishing the new office as an open space for exchange and gathering, as well as work. Bergen Assembly hopes to provide an open space in Bergen city centre where people can meet, grab a cup of coffee, use the wifi, peruse the archive, and where smaller initiatives and groups can have a place to meet and hold events.
According to the plan, Bergen Assembly’s office was to open for events and use as an open office in April 2020, but with the restrictions this has not been justifiable. Bergen Assembly looks forward to opening up more for events and gatherings when the guidelines allow it.
The office was designed and refurbished by musician Kristoffer Wie Van Der Pas and Bergen based architect Tord Øyen.
