    - How to live on twenty-four hours a daySamuel Brzeski

A performance in collaboration with the speed reading application Spreeder, in which a passage from a proto-self help book How to Live on 24 Hours a Day by Arnold Bennett (1910) is played through the application at 400 words per minute. A vocal recital i attempted, presenting a form of live poetry composition, as an alternative narrative is created which lays on top of the existing text.

      - Homodagene - (2022; 15 min) - Nayara Leite

Homodagene is Nayara Leite’s response to a photograph found at Skeivt Arkiv (the Norwegian Queer Archive) depicting a protest during “Homodagene” in Bergen in 1983. The photo shows on of the protesters carrying a sign with Jeg er glad jeg er homo (“I am glad I am gay”) written on it. Forty years after the photo was taken, Leite proposes to raise questions related to intersectionality and to explore what has changed within the realm of discussions among th LGBTQ+ community. Her research is inspired by Audre Lorde, who wrote: “There is no such thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives. Homodagene was originally commissioned by Bergen Kunsthall for Cruising Utopia, curated by Nora-Swantje Almes.

B-open is an annual art festival in September where professional artists and craftsmen open the doors of their studios to the public in Bergen.
B-open provides a unique insight into where and how art is created. During the festival you will meet the people who create the art you can otherwise see in galleries, museums and public spaces. In addition to open studios, B-open offers guided tours, workshops and events throughout the weekend.

The festival has free admission to all studios and events, and welcomes visitors of all ages. It is worth noting that the studios in the downtown core will only be open on Saturday 23 September 12-17, while the studios outside the center are open only on Sunday 24 September 12-17.

At b-open.no you will find the full program for the festival weekend, with an overview of all artists you can visit and where they are located.
