Scholartistic seminar on Alt Går Bra

The Contemporary Aesthetics Research Group at UiB invites the public to an open event dissecting
the contemporary art practice of the collective duo Alt Går Bra.

The event uses the on-going exhibition about Strandamalerne (self-taught painters from Vestlandet) at Sogn og Fjordane Kunstmuseum, Førde, as a starting point for a conversation about the histories and hierarchies of art and questions of the role of artistic research within contemporary art. Participants will include researchers and practitioners from the University of Bergen, The University of Tromsø – Norway’s Arctic University, Sorbonne, curators from NordNorsk Kunstsenter and Kode art museum and composer homes together with other professionals from the field.

The event is the closing result of an experiential three-day seminar and through talks will share with the public the conversations that took place throughout a 3-day seminar. The event aims to disseminate research on contemporary art practices, engaging both specialised and general audiences with discussions on the contemporary art scene in Bergen and beyond.
