Rewind to the late 1990s; British-Asian artists mix bhangra rhythms, Punjabi vocals and UK garage beats – creating a new cultural movement that takes over the British dance floor!
From daytime parties and home studios to packed club nights – hear London-based DJ Harj Sahota dive into the big hits, the founders and pioneers of the music style – and not least the cross-cultural mix of expressions that made Punjabi garage one of the most important genres on the British club scene.
While Harj Sahota is visiting from London, she will be playing a very special DJ set at our afterparty at ROMMET, focusing on Punjabi garage. We can't wait!
*Lectures and talks at Jungelfest 2026 are presented in collaboration with AKKS Bergen.
