What is the reason for the constant output of funk, disco and boogie from Italy, played loudly and danced to all over the world?
This fantastic music that we all love comes from the heart of Naples, the people who live there and the mix of different cultures that have naturally merged in the Italian port city.
Giorgio Lopez tells us about Naples' musical roots from the old days with star artists such as Pino Daniele and the Neapolitan Power generation at the forefront – before taking us through Neapolitan funk, disco, boogie and club culture from the last five years, where well-known artists and record labels such as Nu Genea and Periodica Records are central names.
In addition to Giorgio's concert (with a full band) on Saturday 25 April, he will also be playing a very special DJ set at our after-party at ROMMET, where he will be playing extra music from Naples. We are really looking forward to it!
*Lectures and talks at Jungelfest 2026 are presented in collaboration with AKKS Bergen.
