What do you consider to be home? A house, certain family members, some familiar events or a dish that someone makes?

Our perception of home is constantly reshaped as we move across time and space. We build our homes while others are building their homes as well, it is an ongoing negotiation of conditions for fluid boundaries of existence. This can happen by understanding one another, or by simply acknowledging the existence of others.

Nowadays we exist in hybridities that are born between identities of national and personal, natural and human, local and global. Whether we are collectively marching towards nomadic homecomings, or destined to be on a perpetual hunt for home-like entities, we all yearn for something that lasts longer and more materialistic than a fleeting feeling –– a harbor that we can return to at the end of trips to anchor our mobile beings, to recharge, then set sail for new journeys.

Join this workshop on April 16, where Anas Chao takes you on a journey to set up imaginary homes in Taiwan. By revisiting the environments and conditions of our past and experiencing various media of present-day Taiwan, the 2 hour long workshop hopes to provide a glimpse into an alternative future of our world.

This workshop calls for 4 families of 3 to 4 members, children are welcome. Please contact Northing Space to sign up or ask about further information.
