Taiwan x Norway, is a project by Lin, Pei-Han & Yeh, Kuan-Cheng, dedicated to fostering cultural exchange and collaboration, forming part of Lin's art residency proposal with USF & BEK, with a specific focus on the intersection between Taiwanese and Sámi/Norwegian cultures.

Through innovative initiatives in art and cuisine, our aim is to create meaningful connections and promote a deeper understanding of cultural diversity. The target audience includes local people, Asians, and Sámi communities, and the sensory experience of visual art and taste will serve to connect these diverse groups together.

Lin and Yeh, both hailing from Taiwan, share a profound connection to their ancestral roots, which serves as the foundation of their artistic endeavors. Having recently completed their master's degrees in Norway, they have embarked on a journey of artistic exploration deeply rooted in the traces of their ancestors.

Lin's artistic research delves into the historical narratives and cultural heritage of her Taiwanese lineage. Drawing inspiration from her familial roots, she explores themes of identity, memory, and cultural resilience in her artwork. Lin likes to combine the Eastern and Western material for her artistic research. Through her artistic expression, Lin seeks to uncover and honor the stories of her ancestors, weaving a tapestry of personal and collective history in Sápmi and Taiwan.

Yeh's artistic endeavors also trace back to his ancestors, forming a vital part of his creative exploration and expression. With roots deeply embedded in Taiwanese heritage, Yeh's artistic journey is imbued with a sense of reverence for his ancestral lineage. A part of his Master project was inspired by his grandma's cuisine, and he believes that the sense of taste evokes memories and connect people together.
