Writing Group for Trans People

Do you enjoy writing, or would you like to try? Trans people are warmly welcome to join our spring 2023 writing group!

We'll meet up in Bergen 25 March and 22 April, getting to know each other and writing short texts for a special edition of the fanzine Konstruksjon. The fanzine will be launched at Prøverommet in May. As a participant, you’ll benefit from a supportive writing community. Participation is free, and no prior writing experience needed. You’re encouraged to write in the language you're most comfortable with.

Mabell Holand joins us for the first meet-up!
Mabell Holand (they/them) is a writer, advocate and poet. Their work is driven by the motivation for social change, within the areas of LGBTQIA+, intersectionality, discrimination and anti-racism, both as a protagonist and contributor. Mabell is working on completing their collection of poems, and continuing their contribution as a writer, artist and speaker for various initiatives.

The project is a collaboration between Isak Bradley, head of PKI Norge, Åsne Hagen of Konstruksjon and Prøverommet at BIT Teatergarasjen, with support from the municipality of Bergen. We’re also grateful to Bergen Assembly for letting us use their Open office space, a low-threshold offer where local groups and initiatives can borrow the space for free.
