Date: 21.-22.09.2026
Time: Monday 18:30-20:30, Tuesday 17:30-19:00
Host: The Water and Care Network, UiB

Monday, 21 September 2026, 18:30–20.30

18.30-19.30: We are water: Immersive soundscape by Daiyen Jone (CU/NO)

19.30-20.30: Sharing water/s: Workshop with Patti Anahory (CV)

Sharing water/s: collective reflections on memory, belonging, resistance and care
Anahory will share reflections on her architectural practice, engaging with multiple dimensions of water to explore the entanglement of colonial continuities embedded in spatial narratives. The workshop invites participants to think with water as a relational field, moving from an understanding of water as resource or commodity towards water as an emotional, ancestral, cultural, (infra)structural and critical lens – as archive, portal, and kin. Participants are invited to bring objects, writings, drawings, photographs, stories as prompts for collectively mapping relationships, memories, and entangled histories across oceans and geographies.
Through conversation and exchange, the group will collectively reflect on their relationships with water to consider how to cultivate critical planetary understandings that are non-extractivist, anti-racist, decolonial, and reparatory.

Tuesday, 22 September 2026, 17:30–19.00

17.30-18.30 (Counter) Currents: Conversation with Patti Anahory and Song Yeonjun

18.30-19.00 Silent Transition: Performance by Mahla Rashidian

(Counter) Currents: Connecting waters between Cabo Verde and Norway
In this conversation, Patti Anahory and Anders Riel Müller/Song Yeonjun will engage with different currents linking the Black Atlantic and the white North Sea. Starting from Cabo Verde and Bergen not as peripheral spaces, but significant nodes in (colonial) routes connecting people, stockfish, tuna, water currents, weather patterns and more, Anahory and Song will engage critical spatial approaches to think through coloniality and extractivism in these specific spaces and to surface forms of connection that disentangle (colonial) violences and work towards repair.

This event is free and open to all.
